Has an Al-Be matrix ever been used to manufacture engine blocks in place of an aluminum alloy?

After the stupid ban of beryllyum from racing I'm very surprised nobody speaks about the use of Scandium in Al alloys.

Scandium gives very interesting properties to Al so may be somebody uses it and makes silence about its use ?

S&W uses it in the frame of his aluminium frame pistol, and this speaks by himself about the properties about lightness, termal and strain resistance.

Best Regards
