<description>For our race application, 50 to 150 laps of short-track paved oval racing, I have experienced very positive results with piston-top Thermal Barrier Coating(TBC). Although I must also state, I use only Swain Tech 'Gold Armor' or their 'Gold Coat II' as my coating-of-choice. I have performed a Rockwell 'B' on uncoated pistons &amp; raced them. With the WiseCo pistons I use, they'd lose up to 5 points of Rockwell. With a Swain coating on the same piston, and raced the same number of laps/hours, the most loss I've experienced was 2 points of Rockwell 'B'. Bottom line? Swain TBC works for me, and I always use it.
